What permissions does MOVE Walk need?

To track your walks accurately, MOVE asks for access to your health and motion data:

• On iPhone: Apple Health and Motion & Fitness.

• On Android: Health Connect (steps, distance and exercise).

These are the only permissions MOVE Walk needs, and they’re what allow your steps and distance to be recorded.

How do I check or update my permissions?

In the MOVE app, go to Settings → Preferences → Permissions to see your current status. From there you can tap “Go to device settings” to make any changes. Permissions are always managed in your phone’s own Settings app, so that final step happens there.

Why don’t I see MOVE under Location Services on my iPhone?

That’s completely normal. MOVE Walk uses your health and motion data rather than your location to track walks, so on newer versions of iOS it won’t appear in the Location Services list. The permissions that matter for MOVE are Apple Health and Motion & Fitness.

What’s the notification on my Android phone during a walk?

While you’re walking, Android shows a small notification to let you know MOVE is tracking in the background, this helps keep your walk accurate. It clears automatically once you finish your walk.
